Yesterday, we celebrated the 15 month tenure of our incredible Interim CEO, Terry Neal, with a speech, a framed letter signed by every musician, and a well-deserved standing ovation. Terry had the impossible job of rebuilding trust, bringing the organization together, and helping to move us forward after years of anger, mistrust, animosity, and an institution-wide downward spiral.
Terry did all that and more. He was a constant (and we mean constant) fixture backstage and won us all over with his ear-to-ear smile. He turned this place around, no question about it, but he also made all of us feel valued and feel more optimistic in our futures here in Atlanta. No one could have predicted the epic turnaround we've seen in the last year, and we are so grateful to have had Terry at the helm.
Now, as we look forward to welcoming new CEO, Jennifer Barlament, we are excited that Terry will still be a fixture at the ASO as a board member. We can't wait to have such a strong advocate on the board, and we are certain that we will still be seeing Terry hanging out backstage and greeting everyone with his signature handshake and grin. Thank you, Terry!
